Burnley v Everton - Premier League

Everton are prepared to hand Steven Pienaar a new contract in order to fend off potential suitors including Liverpool.

According to The Daily Mail, David Moyes is stepping up his efforts to ensure his star players stay at Goodison Park.

One of them is Pienaar who has reportedly attracted the attentions of Liverpool, Bayern Munich and Manchester City.

The South Africa midfielder has been one of the more creative forces for Everton and his skills will fit in nicely at Anfield.

The former Ajax star has only 15 months left on his contract and Everton's offer last summer was rejected.

Now, with Pienaar's form attracting more admirers, Everton want to tie him to a new deal quickly.

If Pienaar does move to Liverpool, he will join a select group of players who have played for both Merseyside clubs. Some of them include Nicky Barmby, Gary Ablett and Steve McMahon.
